Title: The Centrality of Human Power in Sustaining Economic Development for Future Generations Journal of Sustainable Human Development Abstract While contemporary economic discourse is dominated by artificial intelligence , automation, and capital intensification, this paper argues that human power - defined as creative, moral, and care-based capabilities - remains the binding constraint and primary driver for long-term economic development. Using a capability approach , the paper demonstrates that future growth will depend not on input expansion but on systemic redefinition, ethical valuation, and relational maintenance, all inherently human functions. The paper concludes with policy shifts required to transition from human resource exploitation to human power enhancement.
